Context

Tiny Studios is a London video production studio that makes cinematic short-form content for brands, run by a young team of creatives and freelancers. They had just finished a full rebrand: bold, bright and youthful, built on colour, shape, pattern and photography. The new identity needed a new website. Freelance Webflow developer Uncode brought me in to own the design. We worked closely together and were both part of the client calls, brainstorms and check-ins, with Uncode handling the build.

Problem

A strong, fresh identity existed, but it hadn't been tested in a real digital product yet. With a bold, youthful identity like this, it's tempting to jump straight into visual styling. The risk is a site that looks exciting but isn't built around what visitors need or what the studio wants to achieve. The site had to get the structure and content right first, so the brand could do its work on a solid base.

Process

I deliberately held off on visuals and started with a strategy session: goals, target audience, content and technical scope. Then we built the wireframes and information architecture together with the client, which gave us fast alignment on what each page needed to do. Only then did I move to visual design. I created several stylescape directions for the homepage: a darker mode, a lighter mode and a hybrid. While walking the client through each one, I paid attention to their emotional response instead of just asking which one they preferred. Once the direction was confirmed, I designed the remaining pages, threading the brand's shapes, colours and photography through each one with intention.

Proposal

A full website with a distinct visual character. Bold colour and shape are used playfully throughout, custom interactions add energy, and the studio's own video and photography get room to carry the design. The structure from the strategy phase stays intact underneath, so every page still does the job it was planned for.

Result

The site doesn't read as a template. It stands out, and the client felt it did exactly what the rebrand was meant to do. Tiny Studios now comes across as more mature and more credible, and is better positioned to attract bigger clients than before.

Lara totally understood our vision for our Tiny brand evolve and really brought the design to life! The process of working with her and the Uncode team was so slick, with easy comms and an amazing eye to detail. Super super happy with our new site, couldn't recommend more!
