Context

Andante Piano is a neo-classical piano label, launched by Disruptive Records as a sub-brand. Disruptive is known for its lo-fi beats identity. With Andante it stepped into classical music, and it needed a home that felt as calm and considered as the records themselves. The brand identity was already designed. The team had started building the site in Webflow themselves, but ran into technical walls and couldn't reach the level of polish they had in mind. I joined solo and worked directly with the Andante team.

Problem

On the surface they needed a website. What they really needed was their own identity translated into a working, technically sound platform that could do much more than a brochure site. The ambition had grown along the way. Andante wanted a place where its artists could be discovered, with a searchable and filterable catalog of artists and tracks. It also wanted an events page with ticket sales for its studio concerts. All of it had to run on live data the team could keep up to date themselves.

Process

Instead of patching the stalled build, I proposed stepping back and redesigning the site in Figma first. That gave us room to get the structure and the details right before anything was built again. I took the existing brand identity and pushed it down to interface level: piano-key motifs, abstract illustrative elements, and layout and typography choices that carry the elegance and calm of the music instead of just referencing it. Then I rebuilt the full site in Webflow from that design. I solved the technical issues that had held back the first attempt and built the functional layer the platform depended on: search, filtering and ticket booking. Micro-interactions and animation run throughout, so the care shows in how the site feels to use as well as how it looks.

Proposal

A complete platform with three core parts. The homepage introduces the label and its sound. The artist and track catalog can be searched and filtered, so listeners can find new music and the artists behind it. The events page lists upcoming studio concerts with a direct ticket booking path. Everything is connected to live databases the client manages through their own automations, so the site stays current without needing a designer or developer for every update.

Result

Andante now has a cohesive, fully working digital home. Artists have a space to be discovered, events have a real booking path, and a brand identity that used to live only in static guidelines now runs through an entire interactive product. The team runs and updates the platform themselves, on the data they already manage.

Working with Lara on the new Andante Piano website was a great experience. She quickly understood our vision and created a modern website that perfectly balances our classical heritage with a fresh, contemporary feel. Lara brought in great ideas, stayed involved throughout the process, and made sure everything ran smoothly. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a designer who combines vision, strategy, and attention to detail!
